About Lord Whisky
The charity was named after a little Jack Russell who lived with Margaret and her family and was put to sleep at the grand old age of 22 years. Lord Whisky was a bit of a character and needed careful understanding and this led us to realise that a sanctuary was needed that could provide the time and expertise to cope with animals like Lord Whisky, and hopefully turn them around for re-homing.

This lovely gentle little dog that was found wandering in the dark at the age of 14 years, has now found the perfect home with animal lovers that we know.
We would like to thank everyone who offered Pippa a home & hope the previous owner who maybe couldn’t keep her for what ever reason, knows that she is safe and very happy in her new home.
It is against the law to abandon an animal on the streets, they could not only come to harm themselves or create an accident.

Re: Faith and her gang of pups
Just to say a big thank you to everyone who responded offering homes to Mum and her puppies.
You will be pleased to know that all the puppies are now spoken for and Faith will be taking a puppy with her to her new home.
We are sorry we could not answer all the offers of homes but our phone did not stop ringing for 3 days!
Thanks to BBC news and the Kentish Gazette for their help in bringing the attention of what could have happened to Faith, if the kind people walking their dog had not brought her to us.
It has been a pleasure and a delight looking after them and hopefully there is a happy ending for them all.
October Boot and End of Year Clearance Sale
Our Autumn Clearance Sale raised just over £2000 and the weather was kind to us!
2 familiar faces were missing. Bert who plays the music which everyone enjoys, who had a bad arm and our Charlie who looks after our gate, as he was without a car.
It's not the same without them but hopefully they will be back with us next year.

BOOT FAIR JULY 13th
Another lovely day, despite of the showers. We were entertained with ‘The Undecided Band’ from Lyminge, who did us proud and our Bert who always plays lovely music.
Then at 12 noon 50 Motor Bikes with riders arrived with all sorts of goodies for the animals.
The event was arranged in memory of Peter Oakley-Hills a keen biker and supporter of Lord Whisky, by Mike and Lee Adams, our face painting lady. The bikers met at the Picnic Hut, Haguelands Farm.
I received an email from his daughter Christine who wrote “dad was passionate about your sanctuary and we requested voluntary donations for yourself at the funeral, the funeral directors have told us today that it raised £327.28, which as a family we are over the moon about and hope this goes some way to helping the great work you do’’
Peter Oakley-Hills must have been a very much-loved man.
It is now going to be an annual event every July.
As always, we thank all our friends who worked so hard on the stalls. A total of £2486.45 was raised, before expenses, to help the many animals in our care.
We are being asked on a regular basis for food for animals by owners who just don’t have the money to buy food for their pets, so all donations are a great help.
BOOT FAIR & DOG SHOW
SATURDAY 15TH JUNE
Oh dear what ever happened to the weather? Again, a big thank you to everyone who were brave enough to come and thank you as always, for your support.
A total of £1349.00 was raised, which helped go towards the expenses.
At least the weather brightened up in the afternoon. We had 39 dogs turn up, who, with their owners really enjoyed the afternoon.
We would like to thank our lovely display teams.
The Southern Golden Retrievers who are always amazing. Our Stockbury Display Team and The Dancing Doggies Of Northbourne.
Our lovely patron Pam Ferris who had such a difficult job in judging the classes.
A big thank you to our friends who give up their time to volunteer in feeding everyone and manning the stalls with lots of bargains.
Our main dog show will be the second Saturday of June each year.
If anyone knows of any other display teams, agility etc please get in touch.
As always, it was lovely to see some of the dogs which had come from the Sanctuary and it's nice to know that we played a small part in their life.
It was wonderful to the relationship with dogs and owners who knew each other so well and i just wish more animals had that sort of relationship with their owners.
There were also two young owners with their dogs who had such a strong bond between them, it was a joy to see, a true friendship with memories that will last forever.
Again, thank you so much.
Margaret
